Deputations/Public Addresses The Chair to note public address requests.
The public can speak on any agenda item for a maximum of three minutes per speaker per item. You are not required to register your intention to speak in advance but should arrive at the meeting a few minutes early, complete a Public Address Protocol and notify the Scrutiny Officer of your intention to speak.
Minutes: Mr Appleyard addressed the Scrutiny Panel on agenda item 6 – Chair’s draft report. Mr Appleyard commenting that in his opinion the evidence gathering had not been wide enough. He referred to the objectives of the Scrutiny Review and felt that had been a need for more information about litter, such as:
Mr Appleyard supported the conclusions and recommendations of the draft report in respect of education and National Citizens Schemes but felt that co-ordinated clean ups by Environment Services could have a negative impact. Mr Appleyard went on to convey his disappointment that the report did not refer to lay bys, footpaths or the problem of HGV littering.
Mr Appleyard was thanked for his address.
