RESOLVED

  1. That Mr Andrew Krzyzanowski be granted leave to address the Committee in respect of Item 9 ‘Review of Private Hire Drivers Licence’
  2. Mr Russell be granted leave to address the Committee in respect of Item 11 ‘Review of a Private Hire Driver’s Licence.’

Declarations of Interest

Minutes:

Councillor Pam Varnsverry declared a personal and prejudicial interest in Item 11 ‘Review of a Private Hire Driver’s Licence’ as she was once hit by a driver who was under the influence of drugs.

Matters of Urgency which by reason of special circumstances the chair is of the opinion should be considered

Minutes:

It was moved by the Chair that an additional item be heard in the private part of the agenda.

 

The Chair welcomed new committee members Councillors Flavell and Chaudhury.

 

Councillors were reminded that there was a Gambling training session on 30th September 2009 at 6pm at the Guidlhall.

 

Three Councillors were required for a Sub-Committee meeting on 20th July 2009 at 3.30pm regarding a Temporary Event Notice.

The Chair to Move:

“that the public and press be excluded from the remainder of the meeting on the grounds that there is likely to be disclosure to them of such categories of exempt information as defined by section 100(1) of the Local Government Act 1972 as listed against such items of business by reference to the appropriate paragraph of Schedule 12a to such act.”

The Chair moved that the Public and Press be excluded from the remainder of the meeting on the grounds that there was likely to be disclosure to them of such categories of exempt information as defined by Section 100(1) of the Local Government Act 1972 as listed against such items of business by reference to the appropriate paragraph of Schedule 12A to such Act.

 

The Motion was Carried.

Review of Private Hire Driver's Licence

Minutes:

The Committee heard the representations made and reached a decision with regard to the suspension or revocation of the driver’s private hire licence based on the evidence presented.

 

RESOLVED

That the private hire licence be suspended for a period of two weeks.

The Committee heard the representations made and reached a decision with regard to the suspension or revocation of the driver’s private hire licence based on the evidence presented.

 

RESOLVED

That the private hire licence be suspended for a period of one month.

The Committee heard the representations made and reached a decision with regard to the suspension of revocation of the driver’s private hire licence based on the evidence presented.

That the private hire licence be revoked.
