Joint Report of Chief Executive, Director of Finance and Support and Borough Solicitor (copy herewith)

Councillor Woods submitted a report that sought the Council’s adoption of the Annual Governance Statement for 2008/09.  Councillor Perkins seconded the proposal. 

RESOLVED: That the Annual Governance Statement 2008/09 as appended to the report be adopted.

Report of Director of Finance (copy herewith)

Councillor Perkins submitted a report that set out the Council’s Statement of Accounts for 2008/09, which would be presented to the external auditor and for public scrutiny.  He thanked Councillor Mildren, as his predecessor, and the Director of Finance and Support for their work in producing the report.  Councillor Mildren seconded the proposal.

RESOLVED: (1) That the Director of Finance and Support in consultation with the Portfolio Holder for Finance be authorised to make any non-material adjustments to the accounts prior to external audit.

                        (2) That the 2008/09 Statement of Accounts as appended to the report be adopted.
