Mayor's Announcements. Minutes: The Mayor commented upon the parade and reception for the 9th/12th Prince of Wales Royal Lancers, which had been held on 18 March 2009 and thanked those involved in the organisation of the parade and the reception at the Guildhall. |

Minutes: Councillor Woods submitted a report from Cabinet recommending the rescinding of the decision made by Council on 26 February 2009 to increase average council house rents by 5.65% per dwelling per week and to implement a revised rent increase of 2.825% with effect from 4 May 2009 in the light of recent Government announcements. Councillor Mildren seconded the report.
Council debated the report.
RESOLVED: (1) That the Cabinet’s decision to rescind the previous decision to raise average rents by 5.65% per dwelling per week previously agreed by Council on 26 February 2009 be endorsed.
(2) That a revised rent increase of 2.825% with effect from 4 May 2009 be agreed in the light of Government guidance. |
